How to Fix Elementor Pro Update Errors (Step-by-Step Troubleshooting)

Few things are more frustrating than an update that refuses to install. Elementor Pro update problems usually come from a small number of causes, and most can be fixed in minutes. Work through these steps in order.
First: take a backup
Before troubleshooting any plugin, make a full backup of files and database, or use your host's backup tool. If something goes wrong, you can restore in minutes.
Step 1: Check your licence connection
Elementor Pro updates are delivered through your licence. Go to Elementor → License (or the Elementor Pro licence screen) and confirm it shows as active and connected. If not, disconnect and reconnect your account, and make sure your subscription has not expired.
Step 2: Make sure the free Elementor is up to date
Elementor Pro often requires a minimum version of the free Elementor plugin. Update the free plugin first, then try updating Pro again.
